What we offer
How we support our community
The Bend Resilience Project is a volunteer-led initiative of local mental health professionals dedicated to supporting children, families, educators, first responders, and community members following the tragedy at Silver Rail Elementary.
We are working to provide the following resources and services:
Parent and caregiver education
Presentations and discussions about how to talk with children about traumatic events, recognize common trauma responses, and support healing and resilience.
Teacher and school staff training
Trauma-informed education and consultation to help educators recognize and respond to students’ emotional and behavioral needs following traumatic events.
Evidence-based resources
Free educational handouts, practical guidance, and trusted resources for families, educators, healthcare professionals, and first responders.
Connections to qualified therapists
Helping children, adolescents, adults, and families connect with mental health professionals trained in evidence-based trauma treatment.
Trauma-focused group interventions
Working to coordinate evidence-based interventions, including Bounce Back, a structured group treatment designed for elementary-aged children experiencing posttraumatic stress symptoms.
Community education and outreach
Organizing presentations, educational gatherings, and opportunities for community members to ask questions, learn about trauma recovery, and connect with available support.
Professional training and collaboration
Partnering with trauma experts and established treatment programs to expand local clinicians’ access to specialized training and strengthen our community’s capacity to provide effective trauma treatment.

Our psychologists offer free talks for parents and caregivers, educators, faith communities, healthcare teams, and other groups.
