Counting visits

We use Google Analytics to count visits to this website. It tells us which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (to the city), what device and browser they use, and how they arrived, for example from a search engine or a link. It uses cookies to do this.

We have set it up to collect as little as it can:

  • Advertising features and Google signals are off.
  • Words you type into the site search, and any other text added to a page’s web address, are never sent.
  • If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the website does not load Google Analytics at all.

The share buttons on our handouts are plain links that load nothing from Facebook, WhatsApp or any other site, and Google Analytics counts a share as it counts a download: which handout and how it was shared, never with whom.

You can also install Google’s opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every website you visit. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Counting downloads and forms

We also count each download of a handout and each form sent through this website, so we know how many people they reach. We record only which handout or form, when, and in which language, never who you are or what you wrote.

The contact form

Messages you send through the contact form go by email to the project team. They are not stored on the website.

You then get an automatic email confirming that your message arrived. It is sent through SMTP2GO, the service that delivers the project’s email, and contains nothing you wrote. So that no one gets more than one a day, we keep a one-way code made from your email address, never the address itself, for two days.

The talk request form

Requests for a talk go by email to the project team, the same way as contact form messages. They are not stored on the website. You then get the same automatic confirmation email as the contact form sends.

The provider directory application

Applications to join the provider directory go by email to the project team. They are also kept in the project’s private records: a database in the project’s Cloudflare account that only the project team can open. What you report about each evidence-based treatment is used to decide whether you can be listed and to build your directory profile: for each treatment, the hours you report may be shown beside your name, and the number of clients when it is five or more. Nothing else from your application is published, and nobody is rated or ranked. To have your application removed, email provider-inquiries@bendresilienceproject.com. Applicants get the same automatic confirmation email as the contact form sends. To check your license, the site sends your license number, and nothing else, to the public license lookup of the Oregon board that issued it, when your application arrives and about once a month while you are listed; it keeps what the board publishes about that license.
